International Surfing Day is more than just a day to catch waves. It’s a call to action that rallies surfers and communities to participate in beach clean-ups, marine habitat restoration projects, and educational initiatives about ocean health. At its core, the event highlights the connection between surfers and the marine environment they cherish. They understand firsthand the importance of protecting marine resources and biodiversity, making them natural stewards of our oceans.

Let’s look at one of their watches that belongs on the water: the Wild ONE Skeleton 42mm in turquoise. It is engineered with NORTEQ carbon fiber, a material six times lighter than steel and 3.5 times lighter than titanium. The watch has an openworked black dial with turquoise accents, diamond-cut indices, and Superluminova-filled hands for optimal readability. Powered by the NORQAIN Calibre N08S, a COSC-certified mechanical automatic movement with a 41-hour power reserve, the Wild ONE merges Swiss precision with rugged durability. The sandblasted titanium case has 200m of water resistance and is a great choice for surfers who embrace both adventure and conservation.

As International Surfing Day 2024 has come and gone, participants likely embraced a myriad of activities. From seasoned pros to enthusiastic beginners, surfers across the world hit the waves, reveling in the unique energy that connects them to the ocean. They fostered camaraderie and a sense of community by sharing waves with friends. Many dedicated time to participating in beach clean-ups to ensure that our shores remain pristine. There were also those who supported nonprofit surfing organizations through donations to amplify efforts to protect our oceans. Surfing stories were shared on social media to not only celebrate the sport but also inspire others to join the cause. Education about the ocean ecosystems and surf culture deepened people’s appreciation and understanding of a connection that goes beyond the waves.
